1 – 2 – 3… GO! The Super Squirrel Scavenger Hunt is on.

UPDATE: The Scavenger Hunt has now ended!

We are pleased to announce that winner was Seren Thomas who submitted these fantastic pictures of the people and places that make her local area special. Well done Seren – and thanks everyone who took part.

Looking for a good excuse to get out and explore some of the hidden corners of your local area? We’ve got just the thing! To kick off the Green Squirrel Celebration we’re inviting you to have a go at our photo scavenger hunt, celebrating the things that make our communities special – with some great prizes for both adult and child winners.
Here’s how to take part

Everyone is welcome to join in, whatever your age and wherever you live.

Your challenge is to take a photo representing each of these eight categories

  • Urban creatures
  • Our streets
  • Community hero
  • Nature finds a way
  • My favourite green spot
  • Local/ independent
  • Incredible edible
  • Stronger together

No fancy photography equipment needed, we’re looking for pictures that show your creativity and highlight the unique things about your community. You are welcome to interpret the categories how ever you think works best.

You can send us your photos by email to hello@greensquirrel.co.uk, or post them on instagram, tagging us @bemoresquirrel and using the hashtag #greensquirrelcelebration – remember to let us know which picture fits which category!

The scavenger hunt closes at Midnight on Sunday 20th June and winners will be announced on Monday 21st.

Good luck – pob lwc!
Check out the prizes!

We have two children’s prizes – copies of the Compost Book by Ben Raskin. It’s full of engaging activities and games and – when you’ve finished with it you can pop it into the compost heap!

Our adult prize is a lush ‘Ideas’ box from Cardiff-baed company Authentic House, with treats and goodies to get you in a creative mood.

We’ll be announcing the winners on Monday – if you’ve won then we’ll arrange to get your prizes to you!
