In this cheerful and uplifting talk, we’ll explore how we can all unlock our inner squirrel to plant the seeds of the future we want, without fear or burnout. Together we’ll explore principles for finding joy, meaning, and connection in everyday activism, helping you to find a place and a role that feels right to you in this pivotal and powerful moment in human history.

This talk is a journey back to basics, offering practical insights and playful strategies for nature connection in our busy adult lives. With the understanding that so many of us live in nature-deprived areas, we’ll share inspiration for tapping into the wonder on our own doorsteps. Finally, we’ll explore how we can all become stewards and guardians of our local patch.
Unlocking community
In 2014 Green Squirrel took the first steps on a journey that has now shaped our work and lives for a decade: the challenge of reclaiming a neglected patch of land for our community and transforming it into a space for connection, climate action, and quite a lot of cake.
This is the story of Railway Gardens, a moving and funny journey to unlock space, build trust, and grow a community. In this talk, we’ll tell our story and share what we’ve learned along the way, sharing our insights into resilience, relationship building, and the power of people.
Weaving stories for a threatened world

Settle in and get comfy: in the first part of this talk we’ll tell you a mythic tale of monsters, courage, and the power of raising your voice. Audience participation definitely encouraged!
In the second part of this talk we’ll explore the power of stories and storytelling to share positive visions of the future we need. We’ll invite you to reimagine traditional tales and local legends and draw on the power of story in your work and life to inspire action for people, place and planet.
